DataSing grew from one overarching observation: small and medium sized businesses should be able to make more informed decisions using the data they routinely generate and collect. Our analytical consulting work across both the public and private sector exposed the difficulties that these types organisations face when they try to get started data analytics – prohibitive costs, complicated technology options and a need for data skills that are not core to their business. DataSing was established to address just that gap, giving smaller agencies and businesses a foothold in the world of data with a cost effective, value first approach. The Leadership Team
Fintan Blake
Fintan is the founder of DataSing, having spent much of his career helping organisations use data to make more informed decisions. He has led a major data analytics business transformation at one of New Zealand’s largest government agencies (large in terms of clients, people and data), developing an astute understanding of the technologies, skills and capabilities needed to generate repeatable value from data.
With a background in pure Mathematics , Fintan hails from Sligo in the north-west Ireland and has previously worked in the UK, the US and the place he has called home for the last ten years, Aotearoa New Zealand.
Venkat Elumalai
Venkat is DataSing’s Head of Platform and Engineering. He has extensive experience in the analysis, design and development of cloud data platforms in all shapes and sizes for a range of customers both in New Zealand and internationally. His business experience spans sectors such as banking, retail and government.
With a strong technical background and a natural intuition for distinguishing between customers’ needs and wants, Venkat leads our engineering team and helps our clients create and maintain a steel thread between their technology investments and real life business outcomes.
Don Charlett
Don is DataSing’s Director of platform development. Don excels in Azure data engineering, with over two decades of technical project delivery across various industries. He has expert knowledge in Data Warehouse design, data visualisation, and Business Intelligence (BI).
Known for his leadership and team engagement throughout the development cycle, he’s successfully led significant projects such as Azure Synapse cloud migration and innovative e-commerce dashboard development. His comprehensive skills include end-to-end BI architecture, development, and delivering high-availability financial systems for top firms, including Barclays. With over a decade's accomplishments in London, this Wellington native is dedicated to leveraging his knowledge to support Kiwi organisations.
